Granddad 'Going to War' by Nessa Morcom and Janet Law (granddaughters of Raymond Caff)
Extracts from a poem, 'Going to War, by Angela Milling, Raymond Caff's granddaughter:

I am standing in this very church,
Praying for my family and loved ones to be kept safe.
I am just a young Ladock man
Who will serve his country and this land.
I am on my way to France, it is so far away.
I am scared, but excited, this will be my day.
.........................
To Gladys my wife, Ronald and Sydney my sons,
I am sorry but this is my end.
In French torn soil I still lay
This is my burial ground, where I will stay.
I was a proud Cornishman, but I am not alone.
One thing is certain, I won't be coming home.
