'Egg Collections' Flower arrangement by Ellie Smith and words by Shirley Soper
During WW1 eggs were needed for injured servicemen. Parishes were asked to collect eggs by the National Egg Board and Ladock was no exception.
Over the four year period, Ladock sent thousands of eggs; during 1917 the children of Ladock Parish alone collected nearly nine thousand eggs.
Without the many thousands of eggs sent from Ladock and other parishes the wounded would not have survived. It is a tribute to all those men, women and children of Ladock who were so committed in doing their bit for the war years.
