Benefice Bulletin for Christ the King, Sunday, 21st November 2021

The Benefice of Probus, Ladock, Grampound with Creed and St Erme

Collect

Eternal Father,
whose Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven
that he might rule over all things as Lord and King:
keep the Church in the unity of the Spirit
and in the bond of peace,
and bring the whole created order to worship at his feet;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This week is the feast of Christ the King. The feast asserts the power of Christ as Lord and King over all things. The feast started between the World Wars as a reminder that, in spite of all our earthly troubles, ultimately it is Christ who is in charge.
We do well to celebrate this feast to remind ourselves that our lives and focus must be directed towards Christ alone. We can remind ourselves that ultimately the power and authority of this world is transitory, and that it is Christ the King alone to whom we should be pledging our allegiance.
