Christmas Raffle – a Message from Jenny

THANK YOU very much to all those kind people who took Christmas Draw tickets to sell (or buy for themselves) at the Remembrance Service last week.  Yet again we were overwhelmed by your enthusiasm and generosity.  There are plenty left should anyone else like some!  Email:

We are short of a couple of prizes if you feel you have anything you can donate.

Many thanks.

Sunday Collections

These are almost the only part of the Sunday services that have yet to return to normal. As you will all know the plate and a bag are on a table by the service sheets when you come in. We have resumed taking the plate to be blessed during the offertory hymn and so please can you place any gifts on the plate or in the bag before the service begins.

Coffee Mornings – a Message from Shirley

How nice it was to see people at the November coffee morning in the village hall after so many months. Dec 4th  10-12 is our next coffee morning when I hope that you will venture out and enjoy coffee and cakes. January 1st is New Year’s Day and most people will most likely wish to spend time with friends or family. We have therefore moved the January coffee morning to Saturday 8thJanuary 2022.

The event starts Ladock Feast week and it is likely that the hounds also meet up in the Square, so we really do hope that you will be able to come along and meet old friends and make new. My many thanks to all those who get the hall ready and to those who make wonderful cakes and serve refreshments. All time, effort and ingredients given freely. If you would like to host a coffee morning or help we would be most grateful. Our aim is for people meet and enjoy each other’s company. Any profits made go to Ladock Parish Church. We aim to keep it as Covid safe as possible and ask you to respect people’s space.

Food Banks

Following the encouraging reception at the Harvest Festival we have reinstated the ‘blue box’ to enable people to leave contributions for the No One Goes Hungry Project in Probus and The Community Larder at St Erme.

The following are particularly welcome:

- tea and coffee

- fruit juice

- tinned veg, fruit, meat and fish

- biscuits

- custard, rice pudding, jelly

- baby food and toddler snacks

The box is just inside the main door on the left. Arrangements have been made for it to be emptied regularly and the contents to be split equally between the two charities.
