A message from Reverend Linda
May I wish you all the blessings of May!
It is difficult to believe that Easter Sunday was almost two weeks ago: Easter cake and eggs all gone, well mine have. Fortunately, the Easter message is longer lasting than my cake, it is for all time. As we are still in the Easter season perhaps May’s new growth is a good time to remind ourselves that God calls us to grow ever closer to Him. As we travel into the Easter season, and through the beauty of the many spring mornings here, may we sense that closeness in the simple things that surround us in our daily life. Of course, this is easy to say, not always easy to do.
As we continue to celebrate the Easter season, and recall the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ on 29 May, perhaps we may reflect on the profound meaning behind Jesus' Resurrection, the enduring message of trust and renewal it brings. It gives us hope for a future we cannot see and for those we have lost and who are hidden from our sight for now.
In many ways in our culture, we struggle to depend on God. We are encouraged to be independent and self-sufficient. In Psalm 62, David says: “Trust in God at all times; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” Many of us find this difficult, we want to keep what is going on in our hearts out of sight. Maybe this is because in that secret place we keep our most precious hopes and dreams, our deepest fears, our heaviest burdens. We are all known and deeply loved by God and to grow in that relationship, may we all take the route of pouring out our heart in prayer at any time and wherever we are.
There are always opportunities for prayer within St. Ladoca, whether in the quiet of the weekday, or our regular services – so please do take up those opportunities and feel free to get in touch personally. Our contact details appear below.
May you be richly Blessed as we continue through the Easter season,
Linda
