Message from the Rector

Ow sos ger,

Autumn is truly upon us! Isn't it wonderful to walk through the lanes, or peer out through the windows to see the leaves changing colour, for the sun peeping out through cloudy or blue skies. It's the sort of weather we are used to with intermittent rain. But even as I write I am aware that many across the world are struggling with the effects of El Nino (a strange term for such an impactful weather system). We know ourselves what it is like to live with floods, to be evacuated and to live with the unease of not knowing how things will pan out. So many people are simply praying for survival right now. Let us add our prayers perhaps using one of the creation prayers of this season, reminding ourselves that all of creation groans under the weight of exploitation caused by our insatiable desire for more. As we reflect during the creationtide/harvest let us consider our own impact on the environment and the impact we make on one another seen and unseen.

For your prayers:

For those affected: Pray for immediate safety, physical shelter, warmth, and provisions for families caught in danger.
For the grieving: Ask that God will comfort all who mourn the loss of loved ones, homes, or livelihoods and grant them courage as they look to what the future will hold
For those who help: pray for protection, endurance, courage, and wisdom for emergency workers, medical teams, and all volunteers putting themselves at risk to help those in need.

Upper Fal Parishes Vision Day

Upper Fal Parishes Vision Day, on Saturday 10th October, at Tresillian Village Hall, is a chance for our churches to listen together for how God is leading us as we work together becoming beacons of love and light across our parishes.

We’ll pray, talk, and reflect on what it means to be the church yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Your voice and presence matter as we shape the next chapter of our shared life in Christ.
