LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for 19th July 2026

Intercessions for Sunday 19th July

Let us pray for the church and for the world, and let us thank God for his goodness.

Almighty God, we see both good and evil in the world around us. Give your people patience when we witness injustice and protect those who suffer from their actions. We especially pray for those who suffer persecution for their faith. Bring peace, hope and your righteous justice to all nations.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Merciful Lord, your church on earth is a mix of saints and sinners. Remind us that judgment belongs to you alone and keep our hearts free from hate, pride and division. Grant your bishops, priests and all your people, the grace to share your love unconditionally.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Creator God, we pray for all who are caught up in corruption and decay. Forgive us when we destroy and spoil your world through greed. We pray for areas where forests are being destroyed, the soil eroded, the water polluted. We especially pray for those affected by extreme heat and natural disasters. Guide by your Spirit all who long for a better world, all who seek to restore and renew the earth.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Loving God, we pray for parents, carers and families as they navigate the weeks ahead. We pray especially for families under financial strain during the school holidays. Open our hearts and hands to support them, ensuring that no child goes hungry or feels forgotten. We remember children for whom school is a place of safety and stability and for whom holidays can bring isolation or anxiety. May we offer a place of safe shelter, a warm welcome and genuine community to all who need it.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Compassionate God, look with kindness on all who suffer from physical or mental illness, grief or oppression. Shield them from despair and protect them from being overwhelmed by pain. May your healing presence sustain them through the darkest days. We pray for all who care for the sick. Lord, give them your patience and endurance in their demanding work and protect them from exhaustion and compassion fatigue. May they be a constant source of comfort to those in their care.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

God of Love, we pray for those nearing the end of their earthly life. Quieten their fears and fill them with your perfect peace. Assure them that they are precious wheat, safely gathered in your barn. Welcome them home where there is no more pain, crying or sadness. Comfort those who mourn their passing and may we one day share in your eternal presence. We pray for the soul of Deryn Donnelly whose funeral is tomorrow and ask you to comfort her family in their bereavement.

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Loving Father, prepare us as we go out into the world this week. Open our hearts to your word and teach us your patient love. Keep us strong in faith when faced with the trials of this life, that we may bring glory to your name.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
