LADOCK CHURCH

Intercessions for Sunday 18 October 2026

18th October 2026
Proper 24   Trinity 20

Let us Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the holy one, is
here. In reverence we bow down before Him now.
Father we thank you for the privilege of worshipping you in
this lovely church; for the peace, the quiet, the liturgy, the
singing and the communion. We praise you for the all
powerful, all creating and all loving God we know you to be
through the perfect life and sacrifice of your Son, Jesus.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Father, we pray for the church around the world and for our
church here in Ladock, for all the churches in the Upper Fal
Benefice and for those who are responsible for the day to
day running of them; for the maintenance of fabric and for
Pastoral care. There are always difficult decisions to make
and paths to choose. Guide us all in all we do, say and think
– that we may always look to see what Jesus would do and
reflect his perfect life.
We remember and pray for all those of our church family,
who, for whatever reason cannot be here with us today.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for our troubled world and ask God for his guidance
for all those who are in authority, with power to start conflict
or to work for peace.
Lord may we see an end to war everywhere, fairer
distribution of wealth and global care for the poor and
needy.
May we all cease looking for more and more material trinkets
and value the true riches you provide for us – our real Daily
Bread.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for our Royal Family; for the King and the Duchess of
Cornwall in their continuing stand against cancer.
And we pray for Pope Leo in these days so soon after his
surgery.
Today the church remembers St Luke, the Physician and
thank God for him and his wonderful Gospel and all healers
and those who care for the sick and broken.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Father we pray to you for all who suffer ill health, loneliness,
poverty or homelessness; for those who live in violent
households, those who cannot find employment, those who
dread going to work or school.

We ask for God’s loving presence for Linda and her family;
For Rosemary Sullivan and her family
for the Lutey family,
In a few moments of silence, we bring to God the names of
those we know who are ill or in special need of comfort

Father may they be aware of your loving presence.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask God’s blessings and comfort for all who mourn, and
his loving mercy on all who have died recently. We pray for
the souls of all whose years’ mind fall at this time. May they
rest in peace and rise in glory.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We sit still in the presence of the Lord, the holy one who is
here and listens to our supplications.

Merciful Father
Accept these prayers
For the sake of your son,
Our saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen.
